How does MindBerry work?

MindBerry provides a unique system that helps you grow your practice. You can work from home, an office or on the go using almost any device to connect your clients. You can design your profile and decide how you want to be advertised on the MindBerry website. Our customer service team is happy to help you with any enquiries or questions that you may have.

What are the standards for practising?

Answer
All Counsellors/Therapists hold a Diploma, Masters or PhD in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Psychology and have a wealth of experience working with clients in clinical or private setting before working with MindBerry.


Question
I don’t have specific training in Online Counselling. Can I still work at MindBerry?

Answer
Absolutely. It is encouraged to have as much practice as possible in Online Counselling but it’s not a prerequisite that we ask for proof or certificate or degree in Online Counselling. After your successful registration, you will be able to watch a video tutorial about Online Counselling. We also offer training in Online Counselling through selected partners - keep an eye out for updates in our newsletter.

How much is the monthly subscription fee?

Answer
As a new Counsellor/Therapist to MindBerry, you will not be charged a monthly subscription fee until you have been with MindBerry for 6 months. Thereafter, it is £9.99 monthly. You can cancel your subscription at any time via the online portal.

2. Vetting Process/documents

What documents are required?

Answer
We require proof of your diploma/degree that you have obtained to work as a Counsellor/Therapist. Additional documents are proof of active professional indemnity insurance & identification. We also require a copy of your driving licence and/or passport. It is also important that you have a right to work in the country in which you operate, so we may ask for a national insurance of national insurance number.

What happens if I don´t have a professional membership?

Answer
Not to worry, you can still apply even if you are not registered with a professional body but we may ask you a few more questions about your clinical experience.

What happens if I do not have current professional indemnity insurance?

Answer
If you don’t currently have valid professional indemnity insurance, unfortunately you cannot work at MindBerry as a Counsellor/Therapist. Every Counsellor/Therapist working online is required to have personal indemnity insurance for the protection of legal against them. Happily, obtaining professional indemnity insurance is usually a straightforward process - we are happy to direct you to reputable and industry standard insurance companies if you need any help.

Does MindBerry provide a professional indemnity insurance?

We do not currently offer such service but we aim to incorporate this feature in the near future.

Do I need to provide references?

Answer
No. At the moment, we do not require references as part of our application process.

What happens if I submit the wrong document?

Answer
Not to worry, you can write an email to us with the correctly attached document and we will replace it. Please email vetting@mind-berry.com quoting your full name and application reference number

What happens during the interview?

Answer
The purpose of the video interview is to get to know you and ask a few questions about your profession, background and experience with Online Counselling. It also gives you the opportunity to ask us questions as well.

What is the process time until a decision has been reached?

Answer
We aim to complete all applications as quickly as possible and we appreciate your patience in waiting for a decision. It is difficult to estimate a waiting time but it generally is less than 3 weeks after submitting of your documentation successfully.

What happens if I was not successful? Can I re-apply?

If you are not successful in gaining work through MindBerry, we ask that you wait at least 6 months before attempting again.

What is the session length I can have?

Answer
At MindBerry you can select the following sessions times: 25 Minutes, 50 Minutes or 80 Minutes. We have plans to incorporate more time slots to give you a greater deal of flexibility.

What happens if I’m running late to a session with my client?

Answer
Nobody is always on time and sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control and we will run late to an appointment. If you are running late, please let your client know as much in advance as possible via text message, email or call.

What if I miss or will be unable to attend a session?

Answer
Everyone can experience unforeseen circumstances and if you are aware of any interruption to your sessions with your client, it is important to let your client know as far in advance as possible. If you know that you can’t attend a session, please contact your client as early as possible to enable rescheduling the disrupted session.

How to create a MindBerry account?

Answer
Creating an account with MindBerry is very straightforward. Simply click on “Sign Up” and fill in your email address and create a password. We will send you an email confirming your email address.

Am I going to be a MindBerry employee after signing up?

No, because MindBerry Counsellors/Therapists are subcontractors and not employees. There is no salary or benefits involved. Every MindBerry subcontractor is responsible for their own tax affairs.

6. Cancellation

What is MindBerry’s cancellation policy?

Answer
MindBerry has adapted the standard cancellation policy that is adopted by the vast majority of private-practice therapists. If a client cancels their session 48 hours before the appointment, they will receive a full refund or can reschedule free of charge. If a client cancels between 24 and 48 hours prior to the appointment, only 50% of the original session price will be refunded. If a client cancels with less than 24 hours to go before the appointment, they will receive no refund and will have to pay the same price again for a new session.

Are my sessions recorded and can I record my sessions?

MindBerry records all interactions between our therapists and our clients to maintain standards and ensure a high quality service. You are welcome to record the session using your own technology, in line with your clinical training, but please make sure to ask your clients permission before recording the session.

7. Payment

What forms of payment are accepted on MindBerry?

We accept all major debit & credit cards expect American Express & Dinners Club.

How much commission will I be charged per session?

Answer
MindBerry charges a commission of X % to every successfully completed session (video, audio & instant messaging)


Question
When will I receive the client payments?

Answer
Your payment will be released every two weeks and directly transferred to your nominated bank account.

Question
What happens if I want to change my bank account details?

Answer
That is not a problem, you can change your bank details and MindBerry will be automatically notified. Once you have received your new bank details we suggest that you change them as soon as possible.

Do you work with PayPal?

No, we do not currently work with PayPal however we are working on introducing this payment system in the near future.
